On June 1st. 2010, Medicare Supplemental Insurance plans are changing slightly due to the new "Modernized" Medicare Supplements. This includes the elimination of Plan E, H, I and Plan J. It will also add two new plans which are Plan M and Plan N. These two plans are an excellent alternative to Medicare Advantage Plans and a great option for those looking for a lower premium.

These plans will likely appeal to those who are looking to opt-out of their Medicare Advantage Plans. Many of these beneficiaries do not like the fact that they can choose their own doctor, and need referrals to see a specialist.
